Welcome to Hawthorn Class!

See below for an update on everything we have been up to this term!

March 2019: A quick update

What a great half term Hawthorn Class are having! In topic, we have been learning about Africa - the countries, the climate, the diversity, the importance of clean water and Fair Trade. We learnt that the effect of buying Fair Trade bananas/coffee/chocolate etc. is amazing on the growers and farm workers. Did you know that if you buy a banana that is not Fair Trade for 30p, only 1p of it goes the farmer? We were shocked!

We have been working hard in English looking at the story of Journey to Jo'Burg. We have written some amazing diary entries from the characters of Naledia, Mma and Grace. Have a look at our 'Wow work' for a few examples!

In Maths, we have looked at converting units of measures, area and perimeter, ratio, circles, pie charts and line graphs! Wow, what a lot of learning in just six short weeks!

Have a look at the pictures in our photos section for everything else we've been up to!
