Good morning,

Today is Thursday. As part of a writing task we would like you to have a go at first saying and then writing the days of the week.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

PARENTS: Focus on emphasising the spelling of day (d-ay) and that it is spelled the same each time, support your child to use phonics to sound out the beginning part of the name of the day.

Phonics: Continue to follow the planning on the school website under RWI PHONICS

Maths: An activity was released yesterday on School Jam called 'Snakey Snakes' have a go at completing this activity. The activity is based on PATTERNS. What can the children find at home that has a pattern on it? Can they find a spotty pattern? A stripey pattern? Send in some photos of what they have found. Talk with your child about the pattern- colours, shapes, lines etc

BugClub: Please log in to Bug Club and read one of the e-books, making sure to answer the Bug questions! All of these books have been set to the children's reading ability.

Get creative:

All you need to make salt dough is white flour, salt, water, and an oven to dry out your creations. To make a batch, mix together 1 cup of salt, 2 cups of water, and 3/4 cup of water in a bowl until you have a uniform dough, then knead it on a floured surface until it is smooth.

It will keep for several days in an airtight container, so you can mix up a batch well in advance and then set your kids down to create anything they want. Once they're done sculpting, bake the figures on a cookie sheet in the oven at 350F until dried and hardened. After, the kids can use watercolor or tempera paints to color their creations.
