Jenny Spears was born in Maidenhead and started as a Parent Governor at Riverside, (formerly Ellington) in 1977 when her two daughters were at the school. Most of Jennys family have attended the school, starting with her aunt who attended on the day the school was opened in 1932. Jenny was a local Magistrate for 22 years. She now teaches ESOL in Slough to a variety of nationalities, having worked in schools and colleges as a catering manager for many years previously. Jenny has two daughters and a grandson.She also has a large dog who is a trained Therapy Dog and visits the Nursery unit frequently for the children to learn respect for animals.
Sajid works for a Technology company in Reading as a Technical Support Manager. He is married with three children and has been a parent & LEA Governor at Riverside Primary School for four years. He is also the joint secretary for the Maidenhead Mosque.
Sue is a resident of the Riverside ward, a member of the Senior Leadership Team, teacher and SENCo at Riverside. She is the school Staff Governor and has been teaching for 25 years.
Chair of Governors - Hilary Hall
Hilary was appointed Governor in September 2016 and is also a Governor at Bisham Primary School. Hilary works for the Royal Borough in children's services where she is responsible for commissioning/contracts, quality assurance and performance. She has worked in all areas of local government throughout her career and brings a wealth of experience to her Governor role. Hilarys particular expertise is in policy, data and performance and she sits on the Achievement Committee at Riverside. Outside of work, Hilary lives on a narrow boat and enjoys messing around on the canals, keeping fit, reading and going to the theatre.
Chris has over fifteen years’ experience advising company directors, boards and politicians regarding strategic policy, influencing, and corporate projects. He currently works for the Almshouse Association with responsibility for policy development and relationship building within Government and other key stakeholders. Chris joined the governing body in October 2018.
