  • Year 5 and 6 High 5 Netball Tournament at Newlands Girls School

Thu 28 Mar 2019 Jacqui Barnes
There was another proud moment for our Netball team this week. They continue to work hard and are great role models when playing against other teams in the School Sports Partnership! We had 6 games to play in our pool and we started off on a winner as all our positions were what our team normally play, but High 5 rules mean every player rotates their position in every game. If we had stayed in the same position for the whole tournament, I think we could have got into the semi-finals! Well done Team RIVERSIDE and a special thanks to Souradrita for representing our School Netball team and we wish her and Sourodeep and the rest of the family well in their travels. Well done to captain Tas, Aisha, Mehnaz, Lucie, Souradrita, Haleema and Ezzah. We had 3 wins and 3 losses – a good result overall.
  • Boys Football Match against Lowbrook

Wed 27 Mar 2019 Jacqui Barnes

We played Lowbrook and it really was a close game the boys worked really hard and had a few shots at goal but didn’t manage to hit the target, however Lowbrook did and they won 2-0 against us but I have to say it was a great game to watch and the boys confidence in playing and passing has really improved, well done boys a really good game to watch and very exciting too!

    Well done to the team!

Juan was nominated Player of the Match, so well done to Juan and well done to you all !

  • Ninth netball game against Holyport away

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Jacqui Barnes

Well another exciting game from our netball team and they worked really well and Mehnaz had a cracking game defending the ball  but sadly we did not manage to win this game as Holyport had some taller players and the game was very fast. The final score was Holyport 10 and Riverside 6.

Well done to the team again, a great show of resilience as we were leading and drawing in the first 3 quarters.

Mehnaz was player of the match, well done Mehnaz and also to the rest of the team Souradrita, Aisha, Tasmiah, Ezzah, Vaania, Lucie, Charlotte and Haleema!

I am sorry but I forgot to take a photo of this game!!

Our last game of the season is in a couple of weeks so please watch this space. We also have a High 5 competition coming up in 2 weeks so I will make sure we get plenty of photos at this event!!

  • Boys Football match against White Waltham

Mon 04 Mar 2019 Jacqui Barnes

Wow what an exciting start to the Boys football this term, this was their away game against White Waltham and what a game it was, the teams were pretty even and the ball was being passed well  amongst both sides, when I left at half time, it was 3-3  so I wasn't sure which way the result would go!!  Some super saves from Hamaad

The final score was 7-7 and the team had a great game, well done boys, Abdul-Sami, Salahuddin, Amaan Akhtar, Murtaza, Hamaad, Faleh and Ibrahim
