  • Year 5 and 6 Netball Match against St Edmund Campian Primary School A team

Thu 30 Jan 2020 Jacqui Barnes
Our first match of 2020 and what a match it was!!   St Edmund Campian were like giants as they walked onto the netball court today but Riverside team rallied hard and when at half term we were losing 6-0, they were motivated to continue and we went onto score 3 goals in the second half of the game to finally lose the game 12-3 but they tried tirelessly to get the ball back into the attacking circle.  Well done to the team and well done to our player of the match who was Amaan, well done to the rest of the team, Ezzah, Safia, Hafsah, Sumaiya, Haleema, Charlotte, Vaania, Diya and Fahtima.  We have made some changes to our team this match and are working on our positioning in the next couple of practices.

Mon 27 Jan 2020 Jacqui Barnes

Wow another fabulous afternoon of motivated and independent Riverside children, they were very excited to start off and were so excited about going to Newlands, we had a wonderful afternoon and the Year 4's really worked hard to improve on their running, jumping or throwing events, we even had an Ex - Riverside student look after us as soon as we got there, we were in very safe hands!!!

Well done to Team Riverside, not only did we improve on our scores but we came first in a few events and all the children gave 100% effort in all areas.  Well done to Owais, Nor-Aldeen, Joel, Ibrahim, Algar, Mustapha, Bilal, Elif, Madeeha, Zaina, Sara, Zainab, Jana, Reina, Hiba and Joella.  You were great Ambassadors for the school.

  • Year 5 and 6 Sports Hall Athletics Competition at Newland's Girls School

Thu 23 Jan 2020 Jacqui Barnes

It was my great pleasure to take mostly year 6's and a few year 5's to the Sports Hall  Athletics Competition at Newland's this afternoon  and I have to say our children were demonstrating the school value of being motivated to do well, they really were a pleasure to take and all of them tried really hard to do the best they could in each event they were in, although we did not win, we did manage to compete against  about 140 of the best children from other schools in the Partnership and you can see what a great time they all had from some of the attached photos.  They took part in various relays, track and field events and it was exciting and very loud from start to finish.

Well done Fahtima,Sumaiya, Safia, Umaymah, Vaania, Ezzah, Arfa, Haleema, Zainab, Murtaza, Amaan A and Amaan I, Salman, Eisa, Saqib and Ameen and thank you for making it such a lovely afternoon.
