  • Year 3 and 4 School Sports Partnership Tennis Festival at Newlands Girls Secondary School

Thu 23 May 2019 Jacqui Barnes
It is with great delight that our Year 3 and 4’s took part in our first tennis competition today and we had a fantastic afternoon as the children certainly improved in their performance from their first game until their last game!
We played against St Mary’s, Furze Platt Junior, St Edmund Campian and Courthouse Schools and then we went in the playoffs against Courthouse for  third or fourth place !  We were chanting teamwork makes the dream work, all for one and one for all!!  We soooo wanted to come back to Riverside with a medal, sadly we did not manage to get third place and got fourth place but only lost out to third place by only 5 points !  This is a great achievement in itself seeing as it was our first time in this festival.  I was incredibly proud of our children and their resilience and their general attitude to the festival, what a lovely way to start the half term knowing we came fourth out of ten teams which is a brilliant result and one that makes us all the more keen to get a medal in next year.  Well done to Judah, Joel, Faith, Charlotte, Maryam, Conner, Reina and Abdur-Raheem for their effort and participation.  Photos attached of our Dream team!
