PE and Sport Premium

Reception - Year 6 PE Overviews for the whole year

PE DAYS

PE and Sport play a very important part in the life of our school. We believe that physical education and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people and, through participation in sport and physical education, young people learn more about key values such as teamwork, fair play and respect for themselves and others.

There is significant evidence to show the positive effects of sport and exercise on children’s physical health, growth and development. Furthermore, sport also provides a healthy environment for young people to learn how to deal with competition and how to cope with both winning and losing.

Each year, the Government provides additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. The money is provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport. It is allocated to primary school headteachers and can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. The funding is being used to provide high quality PE lessons with specialist coaches and teachers, training for teachers, and extra curricular activities, both at lunchtime and after school.

The documents below details how we spent the Sport Premium Funding and the impact of that work.
