Children progress through the Read, Write Inc coloured books shown in the poster below. Once they have completed the Read, Write Inc scheme, they progress onto book-banded books. Regular assessment ensures that children are moved onto the next colour once they are ready to progress. Children reading book-banded books receive a coloured book mark each time they progress to the next level. On the back of the bookmark are a list of recommended texts.
