  • Year 5 and 6 Mixed Hockey Ascot and Maidenhead School Sports partnership competition

    Fri 19 Oct 2018 Mrs J Barnes

A big well done to Hashim, Michell, Ibrahim, Souradrita, Sara, Ummayah, Juan and Abdul Sami who attended our first mixed hockey tournament at Altwood Secondary School, we had a fantastic afternoon of hockey where we certainly met our value of Facing new challenges as it was a very large and tough competition but the children showed their resilience by never giving up and trying hard.  This certainly was one of the toughest competitions in the School calendar.

We played Holyport A team and lost 0-5, Furze Platt A team and lost 1-10, St Lukes A team and lost 0-4, Cookham Rise A and drew 1-1, St Marys A and lost 1-5, Cookham Dean A and lost 1-3 and finally St Edmund Campion A  and lost 1-9.  The goals were scored by Hashim, Michell and Juan and it really was a hard game but certainly one where we learnt a lot along the way.  Well done to you all you were a credit to Riverside and a pleasure to take.

  • Young Ambassador training at Newlands Girls School

    Fri 12 Oct 2018 J Barnes
well done to Amaan, Murtaza, Sumaiya and Ezzah for their efforts today at Newlands Girls School.  They had an amazing day and were a pleasure to take and be with all day!  They started the day off by doing  a Lego challenge and working out what qualities you need to be a leader and putting these qualities in a practical situation, they then did some exercises on communication and given some exercises to do from Berkshire Cricket Foundation and what activities they could take back to school as ideas for the Cricket World Cup next year and finally went on to agreeing how they are going to be effective as Ambassadors at school, they were a credit to Riverside and very excited about how to help at Riverside with the younger children...we will keep you updated!
